Philanthropy New York is working intensively with members, government officials and Regional Associations throughout the affected area to coordinate and track philanthropic responses to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. Our dedicated disaster response page will be updated frequently as the rebuilding continues with news on resources, initiatives and stories of impact.
Currently, we are working to help funders work together around specific issues like housing, aging populations, children and youth programs, health and long-term infrastructure and environmental planning. Please check our hurricane response page for frequent updates. We are also working to coordinate the efforts of the dozens of Hurricane Sandy recovery funds that are collecting donations and will be making grants to nonprofits.
