Philanthropy New York is pleased to announce a new series, Grantmaking Equity Hour: Deepening Your Practice, launching in June!
Our first session in this series will dive into the opportunities grantmakers have to improve the grantseeker and grantee experience, especially as it pertains to the processes and communications that bring them together.
From RFPs to financial documents, foundations are well positioned to streamline the processes they utilize to gather information from their grantees, as current grantees or potential grant recipients. During this conversation, participants will have an opportunity to discuss the ways they approach their roles in service of more effective relationships between grantseekers and grantees.
Who should attend?
Members in grantmaking or grantmaking-adjacent roles, e.g., grants management, finance, etc.
What is it?
Each hour-long session will be kicked-off by conversation starters from your grantmaking peers who are eager to support peer-to-peer learning on equity-centered philanthropic practice, followed by open conversations. Examples of topics include, but are not limited to:
- Approaching your role as a grantmaker with greater power awareness
- Embedding trust and partnership into the way you approach your work
- Building accountability practices
