African Philanthropy Forum to Promote Transformation of the Continent 'From Within'

The Global Philanthropy Forum has announced the formation of the African Philanthropy Forum to support the expansion of strategic philanthropy on the African continent; the Tony Elumelu, MasterCard, Equity Group and Rockefeller foundations have pledged financial support to get the forum off the ground. 

The Global Philanthropy Forum (GPF) announced today the formation of its most recent regional affiliate, the African Philanthropy Forum (APF). Like the GPF, the APF will take the form of a peer-learning network of philanthropists — grant-makers and social investors — committed to advancing equity and opportunity in the developing world.
